Where History meets ShoppingAntwerp

If you want to give your shopping spree a royal touch, you have to visit one of the most beautiful shopping centres of the Benelux. This former ballroom of the city of Antwerp is a place where you can feel History breathing down your neck…
The Stadsfeestzaal was built in the year 1907 and had the goal to give Antwerp a proper ballroom for any kind of celebration. But then on the night of the 27th December 2000 the whole ballroom was burned down. Seven years later they completely reconstructed the way it was before and made a shopping centre out of it. Nowadays we can enjoy this hall daily to get the newest fashion, to have lunch in the middle of the room or to drink in the Laurent Perrier bar shaped like a giant glass of champagne.
You’ll find a great mix of shops on your way through the Stadsfeestzaal. The first Urban Outfitters on the European continent, the exclusive Laurent Perrier bar*, the COS shop, a Delhaize supermarket, Saturn… Even when you need to go to the little boys or girls room, you’re at the right place.
Mon-sat open from 10am till 6.30pm.
* Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health. Drink with moderation.
Antwerp has no secrets for me: designer shops, fashion design and custom-tailoring workshops, pastry shops you can't afford to miss, small, quaint hotels off the main tourist routes, cultural book shops and wine bars... You'll love to come back. Promise! My little extra: fashion!
