Just behind very touristy Dam Square is a wild shop half way between the Lord of the Rings and Tinker Bell. Its name: Chimera. Fairies, leprechauns and gnomes You'll be in awe as soon as you go in. It feels like you're in a country of elves. Tree trunks, more real than the real thing and inhabited by gnomes and other fantastic creatures, punctuate the space. The candle jars on the ceiling giving off subdued light. In displays with magical settings are the most beautiful leprechaun and fairy figurines. In the distance, you can hear the soft sound of a waterfall, interrupted from time to time by medieval music. It's difficult not to fall under the spell despite the crowds (especially on the weekend).

A full goth offering

I discovered Chimera thanks to my teenage daughter who is a fan of fantastic films and games. She comes mainly to find dresses, tee-shirts and goth jewellery inspired by the Twilight saga and Hunger Games. I can leave her there for hours! While waiting for her recently, I toured the first floor and learned about the cute Japanese Kimmidolls, each of which sends a spiritual message. They are apparently wildly popular as decorative items. Open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Thursday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed on holidays
