If you have kids and they're getting a little tired of window shopping in the city, then you can brighten their day big-time with a visit to the Plaswijckpark. The park houses a gigantic playground and a zoo. Don't have any kids? It's also a great place to enjoy the outdoors on a sunny day.

Playground and animal kingdom

For children, the park is loads of fun. I used to love to come here when I was little. There's so much to do. For example, there’s a traffic playground with roads and stop lights that kids can cycle through in pedal powered carts. There’s also a water park with slides and boat rides. And of course there’s a huge playground with a maze, zip line, endless slides and more. And animal lovers will want to drop in at the zoo to say hello to the owls and kangaroos.

Rose Garden

Most people associate the Plaswijckpark with the playground and the zoo only but there’s also a large area for walking. You can stroll through a lovely English garden or a rose garden featuring no fewer than 40 different varieties. And when you're ready for a break and refreshments, there are plenty of places to have a bite to eat in the park. Opening hours April - October, daily from 10 AM to 7 PM November - March, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM
