Taste a Scandinavian sauceFika is a true Swedish tradition. What is it? Sit down for a while with a nice cup of coffee and a homemade pastry. Carrot cake, cinnamon rolls or cranberry tart: everything is delicious and super fresh. Try the black bread, made on site before opening time, with homemade eldeberry flower syrup. On your lunch break, taste the smoked salmon or herring, Köttbullar (meat balls) or the soup of the day. The backdrop is sun, a magnificent historical location and sparrows chirping away in the paved courtyard. Take a tour of the beautiful city mansion to digest.
After marmelade, culture! The interior of the Hôtel de Marle is true to the spririt of the café with Scandinavian furniture and a light, pared down decor. The spring programme is very varied. For only eight euros, you can attend concerts including Midaircondo, one of the most interesting bands of the Swedish avantgard (March 7th at 7:30 pm), the jazz-inspired folk singer Isabel Sörling (March 13th at 7:30 pm), Molly Nilsson, a discreet figure of the pop underground (March 19th & 20th) and the saxophonist Mats Gustafsson with some of the country's finest musicians (April 4th).Poèmes sans domicile fixe, the first collection of poems by the Swedish poet Kristoffer Leandoer will be read to music (free) on March 12th at 7:30 pm. And there will be a modelling workshop for children led by the artist Mårten Medbo on April 6th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (€8).
Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
