For a fun night out on the dance floor, head to 105 Rue du Faubourg du Temple, in the 10th arrondissement. La Java gives carte blanche to the best electro, indie, drum 'n' bass, pop and rock DJs, to thrill its often wild and demanding clientele.

A slice of Paris

Created in 1923, La Java launched the careers of Maurice Chevalier and Édith Piaf, and welcomed Django Reinhardt, Jean Gabin and Fréhel. It's one of the oldest venues in Paris, at once a concert hall, theatre, bar and nightclub. Every evening, a crowd squeezes down the Art Deco stairway of this Parisian club hidden at the back of a gallery listed as a historic monument.

Extremely varied, live performances

Alternately a cabaret, a bal-musette, a psychedelic club and a venue for boisterous fiestas latinas, today La Java is a popular concert hall and club. This legendary Belleville venue favours live performances. In the early evening, enjoy French songs or rock, world music, reggae or electro concerts. Then DJs and other performers take the stage, offering multi-style performances and mixes. Just like the concerts, the late-evening programme targets the eclectic to make the Parisian smart set dance!

Brigitte, 39 MOTHER

Mother, bohemian and Parisian, I love Paris' cosmopolitan side and warmth. Exhibitions, walks, outings with the children...I'll take you on a discovery of the most welcoming places in Paris. My little extra: with my love of food as my compass, I always set course for the best lemon tarts in the city.
