Taking advantage of the effects of heat to intensify relaxation, that is the idea behind ‘hot yoga’. It’s just the right sport keep alert and serene this winter.

It’s yoga meets sauna

Imagine doing yoga in a steam bath or sauna... Are you with me? That’s a bit what hot yoga is like. This original variation on yoga is done at a room temperature of 39°C, with high humidity. The hot conditions encourage muscle stretching while the extra sweating helps to rejuvenate the body. In other words, the cold is no longer an excuse not to exercise this winter.

A flexible studio

Located near the centre of town on Rudolfplatz, the yoga39 centre is easy to get to and offers low-threshold classes without subscription, you just pay per session. For 90 minutes, beginners and advanced practioners are guided through the poses and breathing exercises of Hatha Yoga. And don’t worry if you don’t speak German, certain courses are also offered in English. So now there’s really no excuse! Rates: Classes from Monday to Sunday (see schedule) Rates: 1 class: 17 € 10 classes: 129 € Offer for new subscribers: 20€ for a 10-day trial period.
Coralie, 31 JOURNALIST BY DAY

I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
