By day the Hallmackenreuther attracts creative types and families, and by night is transformed into a trendy bar.

Back to the 1950s

With its rounded lamps, tables and armchairs, the Hallmackenreuther makes clever use of retro design without overdoing it. You’ll find an inimitable atmosphere here, making this bar in the Belgian district an ideal spot for a drink after visiting one of the fine local restaurants.

Resolutely different

With its improbable – and unpronounceable – name, the Hallmackenreuther was always going to a bit different from other bars. It doesn’t just provide its trendy clientele with many and diverse refreshments, it hosts a range of cutting-edge music and cinema events that are eclectic and sometimes even a bit disconcerting. And if that wasn’t enough, it offers a “spring bonus”: a charming outdoor terrace on one of Cologne’s finest squares !
Opening times:
Monday to Sunday: 11 am to 1 am
Kitchen: 11 am to 4 pm and 6 pm to 11 pm

I'm a translator and editor for several publications and I love the hidden side of the city, its secret gardens, its discrete gourmet restaurants and its new, high-design spots. Outings with my friends end late at night. My little extra: a dynamic, fun and really trendy Cologne!
