It all started with a story about friends. Frustrated by the closure of their favourite nightclub, they had the idea of creating a concept unique in Brussels. A place for dance and concerts where people could party but also skate. The Jeux d'hiver thus came into existence.
Back in 1988 Christophe and Stéphane were sorry to see the end of Circus. The two friends decided to fill this gap by creating their own events venue, with a view to making it a benchmark for Brussels nightlife. Almost a quarter of a century later that is what they have achieved.
The ‘Winter Games’ / Jeux d'Hiver really started in 1991. Their success was to grow and grow. At the heart of the Bois de la Cambre, the building is smart and the interior refined. The festive atmosphere and the night revels are rather classy. In addition to a gourmet restaurant, the Jeux d'Hiver has several bars.
The Carré with its amazing light fittings. The Salon with its astonishing technological innovations. On Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 pm, people can skate to festive sounds. The music switches between oldies and the latest thing. A clever mixture that has won the hearts of the Brussels party animals.
I teach tennis in the city and also write about culture for a number of publications. I love to travel and meet people. My city? It's an improv concert in a down-to-earth bar, an exhibition built on a work site, a play performed in the heart of the old city... My little extra: combining sport and culture!
