The urban garden phenomenon just keeps growing. They're popping up everywhere on patios, walls, or as green roofs. Here's a closer look at an original and inspiring collective.

Urban garden

The art collective Time Circus is at the vanguard of the trend with a project installed on an old, disused ship crane renovated with recycled materials. The aim? Raising local awareness of agriculture and promoting composting workshops. Among the residents of this unusual site, you'll meet chickens, bees, butterflies and a family of ducks. The Welvaert garden also has a greenhouse and a kitchen for preparing the fresh produce from the garden.

The adventure continues

Time Circus plans to set up other initiatives to continue this floating adventure. The team is currently working on building a boat that will travel to Lisbon and the Czech Republic.
The ambition of Time Circus is to show us how abandoned locations can be brought back to life by transforming them into productive, ecological platforms.
Aboard this boat, I discovered a sustainable way of life where the enthusiasm of the participants is so inspiring you just want to roll up your sleeves and join them. This innovative garden will come to an end in 2014, so don't miss your chance to visit!

Marie-France, 32 Public relations manager

Born in Africa, I've lived between Europe, the United States and my homeland. A real mix of cultures! I'm always connected to social networks and on the lookout for great fashion, lifestyle, music and outing deals. I work in Antwerp as a public relations manager. I'm also a presenter for a TV music channel. My little extra: I like to get out and meet people.
