Hotel De Filosoof
Anna van den Vondelstraat 2-6

Who said luxury had nothing to do with philosophy? De Filosoof proves exactly the contrary by associating a known thinker with each of its rooms. Located close to Vondel Park, the hotel has its own garden which is perfect for sitting and meditating. Those who have bad memories of philosophy can go jogging in the park or visit the renovated rooms of the Rijksmuseum.
With 38 rooms thoughtfully furnished and decorated, the Filosoof is a pleasant and refined hotel. You can choose to sleep in the Wittgenstein, Bataille or Socrates room. The decoration is obviously different in each. I warmly recommend the place when you’re suffering from a lack of inspiration…
The main appeal of the Filosoof - other than its unusual concept - is its location in the centre of Amsterdam. This beautiful 19th-century building is surrounded by lively cafés and interesting museums. You can have a drink at the Blauwe Theehuis or a good cocktail at the Vertigo Café at the end of the afternoon.
I love Amsterdam's open spirit. It's easy to meet people and have rich, interesting conversations. The heart of the city is bubbling over with cultural initiatives, secret restaurants and nature routes that relax you in no time. I want to share it all with you!
