When fall approaches, I like to go to Izakaya to fill up on protein with delicious sushi and Japanese noodle dishes. Originality and surprising flavours are part of this place that endlessly renews itself with intriguing combinations. A cool and trendy clientele has been coming to eat since they started serving lunch. It’s easy on the eyes.
The quality of the fish is flawless at Izakaya. Their sashimis are succulent as are all the salmon-based dishes. The crab temaki - a hand-rolled, cone-shaped sushi - is divine. You'll want to try everything and the menu changes with the best seasonal products. The service is very quick, which isn't always the case in Amsterdam.
Izakaya is minimalist chic, full of light and refreshing energy. You can watch the chefs' nimble hands create dishes, which provides a touch of theatre. You'll recognise the fundamental values of Japanese culture in the pared down interior. It’s been one of my great passions since childhood.
I love Amsterdam's open spirit. It's easy to meet people and have rich, interesting conversations. The heart of the city is bubbling over with cultural initiatives, secret restaurants and nature routes that relax you in no time. I want to share it all with you!
