It's impossible to get bored at Amstelpark. Drop the kids off in the morning and you'll struggle to get them back at the end of the afternoon!

Nostalgia

I honestly thought I'd never this type of ride again, but on entering the "speeltuin" (literally, games garden) in Amstelpark, all my childhood memories came flooding back. A mini train in a Wild West landscape with a totem pole looming overhead and cacti all around, bumper bikes on an oval circuit with a line of fifties style petrol pumps, a small swing carousel...It all comes flooding back - I didn't see my little fellow climb up on a mini-digger with a bucket in the sand pit. With eyes bright with desire, he claimed his loot: a token!

A plethora of activities

The tokens can be bought from the snack bar, strategically located in the middle of the attractions. For €9, you receive 8 tokens from Jordi, the son of the manager. What better way for a bunch of kids to have fun. Afterwards, why not take the children to the free slides nearby or explore the park itself. Created after the 1972 Floriade event, an international horticultural exhibition, this beautiful green space is worth the detour on its own. It's great for relaxing and enjoying a picnic. The rose garden, green maze and educational farm are sure to convince even those quick to dismiss it!

Open every day from 10:00-18:00 from 1st April to 30 September. Open weekends and school holidays from 1st October to 31 March, from 10:00-17:00.

Laurence, 46 a cool mum

I’m the mother of two supercharged children. I’ve also been living a great love affair with Holland for the past 20 years! I’ll take you to places in Amsterdam that will make you feel good, where the products and the welcome are high quality and where, most importantly, you’ll never stress out. Ready to go?
