One of the things I dread as an uncle is having my nephews round when it’s raining. When the weather’s good I’ve got loads of ideas for them, but if it’s raining we’re all at sea. And then my life raft is Tun Fun, a children’s garden of over 400 m² which is under cover.

An unused tunnel

Tun Fun gets its name from its location, which is a motorway tunnel that has not been in use for more than 20 years. Nowadays it’s taken over by children up to the age of 12, who charge around all over the place.

Organisers for each activity

In an area of around 500m², there’s loads to do. Trampolines, a football cage, a face-painting area, a car racing circuit and a ball pool are some of the most popular. There are enough organisers there to help the children and explain how things work.
This summer, because there was so much rain, Tun Fun enjoyed more success than usual. But I think December’s the time when this place is most useful. It makes going out possible even in the cold of winter, and enables little nephews to let off all the steam they need!

Open every day from 10 am to 6 pm.

I spend a lot of time in front of the computer, but I prefer to be followed on a bicycle than on Twitter. I love Amsterdam for...its little streets, riches, treasures and all of the spots where you can get a really good beer. Follow the guide! My little extra: discovering nature
