The Schiphol station can only be reached by local trains departing from Rotterdam. To reach Paris, Brussels or Antwerp, you must purchase a ticket from Rotterdam. Print then your travel confirmation to travel free between Rotterdam and Schiphol. This will be your ticket.

Practical information and a variety of services (public transport, trains, carpooling, taxi, etc.) make your trip, both before and after your train journey, even simpler. Valence railway station is around ten kilometres from the city centre. You can use public transport to get to the city centre easily. Go for a stroll alongside the city’s canals, see the harbour, and enjoy this beautiful, green city, steeped in history and full of art.

Public transport

  • To get to Valence city centre:
    • Take the coach or a TER SNCF regional train: search for your detailed itinerary (In french).
    • Use the Citéa shuttle service: see maps and timetables (In french). The station shuttle stop is the “TGV railway station” stop in the commune of Alixan.
  • To get around Valence and its suburbs, use the bus network: find your detailed itinerary (In french), see maps (In french), timetables (In french) and fares (In french).

Cars

  • Hire a car and take advantage of the Thalys Europcar partnership :
    • Enjoy a 10% discount on current rates for Europcar tourist vehicles. Thalys recommends the eco fleet so you can continue your journey using more environmentally-friendly transport methods.
      Access: in station hall.
  • Check on the the traffic and roadwork situation (In french) in real time.
  • Park your car in one of the car parks close to the station, in which the first 45 minutes are free of charge.
    Access: opposite the railway station, west side.

Bicycles

  • Take your bicycle with you on board Thalys! You can travel at no extra cost with your folding bike or by putting your bicycle, with the front wheel removed, into a carrying case (max. size: 120 x 90cm). You should then put your bicycle in the luggage area located at the far end of the train.
  • Leave your bike in the Parking Alpes (In french). A charge applies for use of the bicycle area.
    Access: east side of station.
