Current Coronavirus situation - Exceptional commercial measures

At Thalys, we are all ready to support you and respond to your requests at this particularly difficult time when we must, more than ever, show our humanity and solidarity. You can consult the exceptional measures we have taken to deal with this situation here. We hope from the bottom of our hearts that you and your families will come through this period in good health.


Thalys offers you a period of 1 year to ask for the exchange of any journey from 10/03 until 30/04/2020

Following the evolution of the current situation in all the countries served by Thalys, we are forced to further reduce our transportation plan.

From Tuesday, March 31, to Thursday, April 30, two outward and return trains will travel each day: 

Between Brussels-Midi and Paris Nord
Train 9322: departure from Brussels-Midi at 10:13 to Paris Nord (arrival 11:35)
Train 9351: departure from Paris Nord at 14:25 to Brussels-Midi (arrival 15:47)

Between Brussels-Midi and Amsterdam
Train 9315: departure from Brussels-Midi at 09:52 to Amsterdam (arrival 11h44)
Train 9352: departure from Amsterdam at 13:15 to Brussels-Midi (arrival 15:08)

Tickets for these two trains will be available for sale from Monday, March 30.

In order to apply the social distancing measures aboard the train, the number of seats available has also been adjusted.

The exceptional commercial measures implemented last week are still valid: you may postpone your journey – with no additional fees – up to April 30, 2021.

In order to do this, you need to keep your original ticket and contact our Call Center as soon as sales for your new travel dates are open (about 4 months before departure). It’s of no use to contact our Call Center earlier. 
These measures apply to our entire network, for all reservations already made or to come.

Please do not try to exchange or cancel your tickets on our website, as the exceptional conditions regarding this situation cannot be applied online.

The option to cancel tickets for journeys between 10/03 and 30/04/2020 with a full refund also remains valid until 15/05/2020 at our Contact Center. 

In addition, all tickets for trips in May, June and July 2020 are exchangeable or refundable without additional costs up to 30 days before departure.

We are currently receiving a large number of calls and are working hard to answer them as best we can.


It is no longer possible to buy tickets at the ticket counters of Paris Nord station or on board our trains. You can purchase your tickets via the other usual points of sale (, Thalys App, other online sales channels, etc.)
