Family Travel

For families, Thalys offers special seating and attractive fares:

  • Our special family compartment has seats separated from the rest of the carriage by a glass partition. Your children can use the table to play, draw and eat.
Seats can be folded away to store a pushchair. Family compartments can be reserved, at no additional cost, in carriages 6 and 7.
For toddlers, baby-changing areas, with a table, washbasin and bottle warmer, are available in carriages 7, 17, and 27.

You can also request a family compartment at the ticket window at the station, your travel agency or the SNCF (direct line) +33 8 92 35 35 36

Children travelling alone

For your information and to ensure the safety of your family, we remind you that any child under the age of 18 travelling accompanied or unaccompanied does so under the sole responsibility of his or her parents (or of an accompanying adult to whom the child has been entrusted). It is the parents’ (or guardians’) responsibility to find out from the competent authorities in the country concerned which documents are required to authorize the child to cross the borders.
Please note that from 1st November 2007, children under 12 will no longer be authorized to travel alone on Thalys trains.

Don’t forget our special fares!

  • Kid&Co allows two adults accompanying a child to travel for half the price of the Hi-life fare. Children under 4 can travel free of charge (without an assigned seat). To reserve a seat for your child, you need to purchase a Kid ticket.
