Few hours in the unusual Marais Quarter
After having seen a bit of the rich history to be found in the former private residences of the Marais (some of which have been turned into museums), it is a good idea to stop inside some of the boutiques. Given the predominantly gay nature of the neighborhood it isn't rare to see store windows selling eccentric clothing and products. However, there is also a rich culinary history associated with the boutiques and the neighborhood and so you'll find store selling olive oil, tea, chocolate and jewish specialties.
