Miró et Jan Steen, exposition
Artistic echoes.

Following his visit to the Rijksmuseum in 1928 whilst he was staying in the Netherlands, Joan Miró created a series of three paintings which were inspired by two interior scenes by two 17th-century Dutch masters, Hendrick Sorgh and Jan Steen.

His "Dutch Interiors" had never before been displayed alongside their inspirations until they were reunited at the National Museum of Amsterdam, the Rijksmuseum, bringing together the Dutch Golden Age and the avant-garde of the 20th century.
