Storing your luggage

Once on board you can store your luggage free of charge, under your own responsibility (please note, for security please lock your luggage and do not leave it unattended). For this purpose you have:

Luggage racks, above the seats.
Luggage spaces at the end of each carriage for your larger items of luggage.
Spare space on the floor between some of the back to back seats.

You can carry with you

A maximum of 2 suitcases per paying passenger (the largest side must be =85cm) and 1 item of hand luggage.
Luggage that you can carry alone, unaided in the train.
Luggage that does not impede normal circulation on the train.

In the luggage spaces

For safety reasons, you are required to deposit in the luggage spaces:

Electrical and manually propelled wheel chairs.
Children's push-chairs and prams (folded down).
Bicycles in a 120 x 90 cm bag (with the front wheel dismantled).
Folding bicycles.
Skis in protective bags.
Surf boards in a 120 x 90 cm bag.
Musical instruments that are portable.

Extra space in Thalys Sun

For your holidays in the snow or sun, there are extra seats in carriages 6/16 and 7/17.

In the Thalys Soleil trains, cool boxes are treated as luggage and accepted so long as their characteristics comply with luggage regulations.

Luggage not permitted on the train

That is longer than =85cm.
That is too heavy for one person to carry unaided.

Ensure you are labelled!

For the security of everyone, luggage must compulsorily be labelled. To facilitate compliance with this requirement, you can download our personalisable label form. For this you will need Acrobat Reader version 5 or higher.

If these conditions are not complied with

If excess luggage is carried or these conditions are not complied with, the Train Manager can require you to pay €30 per item of luggage or may refuse to allow them to be brought on the Thalys train.
