
Welcoming passengers aboard
Thalys is a service that is accessible without prior check-in as is the case for a plane journey.
You can therefore arrive at the train with your ticket without any formalities.
Thalys has always aimed to satisfy its customers to the best of its ability.
This tradition of comfort and service is respected by our staff.
In Comfort 1, our hostesses and stewards are available to help you board the train, welcome you aboard and show you to your seat.
All our staff speak several languages, and do their best to make your journey a pleasant one.
Our Train Managers will welcome you, provide information and if necessary give you assistance.
They will also check your ticket.
You must respect the fare conditions of your ticket and travel in the train for which the ticket has been issued. If necessary you must produce the necessary evidence for a special fare.
If you cannot produce this evidence, please contact the Train Manager, before the train leaves or just after departure, and he will issue you with a Hi-life ticket.
You will be required to pay a 10 € fee for the issue of a ticket on board.
Payment can be made in cash or by credit card.
Thalys Corporate program (TCP) tickets however provide flexible access entitling you to board any Thalys train without formalities on the same day and in the same direction as the train on which you have booked a ticket (with no guarantee of a seat).
In this event, please contact the Train Manager who will find you the best possible seat.
Please note that, to ensure the safe departure of a train, access to platforms in some stations may be closed 2 minutes before departure.
