Make your Thalys journey an unforgettable experience!

It is already possible to benefit from broadband Internet access when travelling at 300 km/hr on Thalys trains equipped with WiFi (indicated by the WiFi logo on board). The system will be extended to all trains before the end of 2008.

How do I connect?

The ThalysNet portal (only accessible on board trains equipped with WiFi) enables you to benefit, free of charge, from the following services:

Two access options are available:

Forget the time and enjoy limitless surfing for 13 €

  • Travelling just a short distance?

Enjoy Internet access for one hour after connecting. If your connection is interrupted during this hour, the minutes during which you are no longer connected cannot be reclaimed: access stops one hour after you first connected.
This rule applies whether the cause of interruption is voluntary or for technical reasons. We suggest you choose your connection time carefully and to check if you are near an before you begin your session.

  • By credit card (Visa, American Express, MasterCard) directly on the ThalysNet website (only accessible on board trains equipped with WiFi).

WiFi in Thalys trains: how does it work?

how does it work?
  1. 1 A tracking antenna on the roof that ensures Internet connection by bi-directional satellite link.
  2. 2 A Network operation centre
  3. 3 Tunnels. In covered areas, the satellite link is cut off. The Internet connection is maintained by switching to land relays (networks such as GPRS, UMTS, GSM…).

Service provided by 21Net and activated by Nokia Siemens Networks and Telenet
