A variety of newspapers and magazines are available free of charge on all trains in the languages of the departure and arrival stations. On Sundays, passengers can enjoy our selection of magazines.

Thalys is your mobile office thanks to electric sockets that you can use to recharge your electronic equipment while you travel (carriages 2/12/22, 3/13/23 and at each seat in the refurbished Thalys trains).

Breakfast, lunch or dinner train?

Enjoy a good meal during your journey! A meal served at your seat in the train is included in the price of your ticket in Comfort 1*.
* For journeys of more than 50 minutes.

The new Thalys approach, straight into your plate, offering you meals that are healthier, tastier and suited to each time of the day and your journey.*

Meals are designed according to the culinary customs of the departure station. Several vegetarian selections are available on each line.
For your dining pleasure, more than 216 different menus are served each year aboard Thalys trains:

  • A breakfast consisting in:
    • hot and cold drinks,
    • croissants and hot breads,
    • fruit salad or an organic yoghourt,
    • a savoury selection (cheese and cold meat) or a sweet selection.
  • A lunch or dinner consisting in :
    • hot and cold drinks,
    • a starter,
    • a mixed salad platter,
    • a dessert,
    • hot breads.
  • A gourmet offer :
  • Gourmet Tonus = in the morning after breakfast.
    • Choice of: hot Danish pastries, sandwiches, organic yoghourts, fruit salads.
  • Gourmet Apéritif = before lunch or dinner.
    • Choice of: savoury cakes, vegetable sticks, sandwiches.
  • Gourmet Gourmand = In the afternoon and evening.
    • Choice of: sandwiches, cakes, fruit salads, organic yoghourts.

Momentum

Three times a year, Thalys completely renews the theme of its onboard catering in Comfort 1 and the Thalys Bar, offering healthy and tasty meals suitable for the time of day and in keeping with the seasons.

Zesty Tasty

From 15th April to 15th September 2010

Zesty Tasty, the summer theme for 2010, is inspired by a genuine culinary philosophy that combines local gastronomy and creativity, flavours of childhood and good nutrition, with a hint of the exotic that will brighten up your journey. Some samples taken from menus stored on board by Thalys at Cologne include: an imaginative terrine of guinea fowl with oranges and port, a “Kartoffelrösti” and salmon tartare steeped in nostalgia: seasonal asparagus in and cucumber salad for health and well being. This summer on Thalys, local recipes and produce with added cultural value are part of our programme.

Free Internet WiFi connection

Continuous broadband Internet connection on all Thalys trains* travelling to all destinations, so you can surf the Internet, consult your emails or work during your journey.
*Service subject to availability, depending on technical conditions on the day.

Complementary services

  • A variety of newspapers and magazines in various languages is available free of charge on all trains. Papers are available in the languages of the departure and arrival stations.
    At Sunday, passengers can relax with our selection of magazines.

  • Taxi reservation service
    Don't waste a minute! Our onboard staff will be happy to book a taxi that will be waiting for you when you alight from the train.
    One of our staff members will be waiting for you, holding a sign Thalys.
    This service is available for arrivals at:

    • Paris: Our staff member will be waiting opposite platforms 8 and 9. Drivers charge a fee for serving the station of around 12€ in addition to the cost of your journey.
      You pay the driver directly for the cost of serving the station and your journey.

    • Brussels: Situated on level 0, between platforms 3/4 and 5/6. A flat fee of 23€ is charged for transport to any one of the 19 communities that make up the Brussels-Capital region, as well as Zellik and Diegem. You pay the driver directly.
      For any other destinations, the taxi fare corresponds to the price displayed on the meter (service fee + cost of journey).

  • Thalys is your office on the road thanks to electric sockets that you can use to recharge your electronic equipment while you travel (carriages 2/12/22 and 3/13/23).
    For passengers who want to relax, carriages 1/11/21 are not equipped with sockets.

  • Your Comfort 1 ticket is also your passport to the VIP lounge in Cologne and the NS Hispeed Lounge in Amsterdam, Schiphol and Rotterdam.
