Besides usual Thalys fares, you can also take advantage of reductions if you are:

  • a young person or senior citizen;

  • travelling with children (even if they are not your own);

  • a frequent traveller and you are a Lys member.

Tickets are available for sale 3 months before the date of travel.
By reserving early you can take advantage of the best Thalys fares.

Overbooking

Some customers do not turn up at the train departure time which means that there are seats free on trains considered fully booked by our reservation system.
To compensate for this, certain seats can be offered as “overbooked”. In this situation the passenger will be allowed to board the train. However, there is no guarantee of a seat or meal service in Comfort 1.

In this case, the ticket does not mention a carriage or seat number but is marked “seat subject to availability”.
(To limit overbooking and the inconvenience this may cause, these seats are only accessible for Hi-life, TCP and Lys fares).
