On bike or by foot, a stop at one of the city's numerous squares is a great way to get a feeling for the vibrancy of daily life in Amsterdam: in Rembrandtplein or Leidseplein, the most famous squares, you will find the well-known "brown café's".
To end the visit with a panoramic view of the city, make your way the Westerkerk and its bell tower, the tallest in Amsterdam, located in the heart of Jordaan, one of the fashionable quarters.

10 years in the canals

The Grachtenfestival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with another fantastic festival dedicated to classical music.

Taking place in different venues throughout the city, the festival features a new theme every year. Compositions written especially for the occasion are given top choice when it comes choosing which performance is scheduled in which venue. This festival boasts an important and quite original asset, the Kindergrachtenfestival, which offers special productions for babies, toddlers, children and teens.

In tune with the original mission statement of reaching a wider public, numerous concerts are completely free of charge.
