CAFE DE SLUYSWACHT

This lock keeper's house at the edge of the canal is so tilted that it seems ready to fall over at any moment, but it has resisted since 1965! One of Amsterdam's most recognized traditional cafes, this place offers some of the best views, even from the patio in the back. The two floors are more than minimalist, almost bare, but there is something authentic and cosy about the place and its a good thing, because visitors will want to stay for tapas.
