Few hours around Bastille place
Since the 1989 inauguration of the Opera at Bastille which François Mitterrand decided to have built, music has become a central part of life in this neighborhood where guitar ballads or techno tracks escape from the bars, nightclubs, and concert halls nearby. Attracted by the activity of the neighborhood as well as the calm environments to be found within the courtyards and private passages of Faubourg Saint-Antoine, many artists and designers have set up shop here with plenty of unusal objects to be bought.
