The exhibition entitled China Gold aims to take visitors on a journey inside modern China, a country undergoing massive economic change. This economic revolution, linked to the liberalisation of vast sectors of the Chinese society, has resulted in new behaviour, which is reflected in the works of contemporary artists. This generation of artists represents new riches, a new eldorado towards which the eyes of the whole world are turning. China offers us the image of a country that has progressed from complete poverty to unprecedented economic success. It is also the manifestation of a new freedom and contemporary artists are the symbol of this freedom.
