This aphorism, signed Picasso, was the driving force that helped conceptualise the exhibition. In essence, Picasso et les maîtres aims to highlight the recurrence of certain timeless themes in Picasso's more experimental works to establish a thematic connection between contemporary and historical art.
Picasso, a highly-cultured visionary, visited countless museums and had a scholar's knowledge of art history and theory - the exhibition will attempt a synthetic reading of his intellectual standpoint.
From Wednesday 8 October 2008 to Monday 2 February 2009 :
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 22:00
- Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00
