Belgium: Brussels
Areas in the city:
In a nutshell...
Known as the capital of comic strips, Brussels is also unique for its mix of modern buildings and Art Nouveau style homes.
An animated and festive city, it is not rare to witness a fanfare or a parade in the Grand Place nor is it uncommon to see the Mannekenpis being adomed in a new costume; Brussels is a city for walking.
The city is spread out, with 19 districts depicting many different faces of the capital. Ixelles is famous for its nightlife, where Saint-Gilles, particularly the Maison Horta, is popular with those who are interested in Art Nouveau.
Truly European in character, Brussels offers all the Belgian specialities, from beer to waffles, but Italian and French dishes are also popular. This is a city where everyone can find something of interest.
Brussels : Shopping

All year long :
From Monday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00
Right in the middle of the designer neighbourhood is where the designer Annemie Verbeck opened here boutique in a pretty, typically Brussels house. Climb up a few steps and discover a sober and light world.
The back of the shop, dressed with a large mirror, tricks the eye into seeing never ending views, making the room seem larger in the process.
The Belgian designer's collections are rated for their choice of material and the detail of the cut.
Annemie's world is very feminine with plenty of skirts and dresses in sober and pure cuts, dominated by cold tones. From the sweater to the jacket via the coat, every collection has a running theme with a detail on repeat.
It's all in the finish and this is the extra that keeps people coming back from season after season.
