Belgium: Brussels
In a nutshell...
Known as the capital of comic strips, Brussels is also unique for its mix of modern buildings and Art Nouveau style homes.
An animated and festive city, it is not rare to witness a fanfare or a parade in the Grand Place nor is it uncommon to see the Mannekenpis being adomed in a new costume; Brussels is a city for walking.
The city is spread out, with 19 districts depicting many different faces of the capital. Ixelles is famous for its nightlife, where Saint-Gilles, particularly the Maison Horta, is popular with those who are interested in Art Nouveau.
Truly European in character, Brussels offers all the Belgian specialities, from beer to waffles, but Italian and French dishes are also popular. This is a city where everyone can find something of interest.

"Father Christmas's Worst Gifts Ever"
Noël 2008 From Sunday, December 7 2008 to Sunday, December 28 2008
The Nightmare of Christmas.
The Fantastic Art Museum in Brussels is organising this one-of-a-kind exhibition with some terrifying gifts by the worst father christmas ever.
You have to see it to believe it: while everyone else is dressing the tree or getting into the Christmas spirit, the organisers of Pire Cadeaux du Père Noel will be swinging in a different direction... Their tree will be topped with a grinning skull and wrapped in cobweb garlands. The Nativity Scene will be worse than a horror flick and the traditional elves will be more goblin than elf-like...
But the best (or worst) is yet to come: every visitor gets to go home with a gift, like it or not... With a bit of luck you might go home a millionaire, otherwise you will have something rotten or pestilential or poisonous wrapped in flashy paper...
From Sunday 7 to Sunday 28 December 2008 :
- Sunday from 14:00 to 17:00
Admission prices :
- 6 €
